Technical Difficulties
Well I have been here at Trinity St David Carmarthen for about 12 days and it has been an amazing 12 days. Even though I spent the first week without Internet, but I did video blogs during that time (more than just LAX and Chicago) but they are just having trouble uploading at the moment, but soon they will be up and you will be able to watch my first adventures at Trinity.
So until then, goodnight and good morning :D

3...2...1...Fly!!!
I just wanted to give you all an update to tell that it is really is just a few hours until I am on a plane and starting this adventure. The last few day s have been great, I had some really amazing times hanging out with my friends for the last time for 5 MONTHS, I have some great memories to take with me. I'll be leaving for the airport in a couple of hours and needless to say that even though I could not be more excited for this, but this is my first flight in over ten years and my first international flight and I am going alone so it is a bit of a nerve racking experience. And even though my family and friends are all supportive of me going, it is bitter sweet to say good bye to them for these five months. But I am so blessed and thankful that I can have this experience and that my family and friends are so supportive, so it is worth having a huge butterfly bashing around in my stomach right now. Alright I think that is it for now, then next time we talk I will have all types of stories of my journey to Trinity. Good night/Good morning everybody :)
*Also since I didn't say it in my last blog, Happy New Year, hope it's all going well so far and 2011 is your best year yet :)

The Puppy vs. The Blob
They say that if something is important it is not always easy, and that it makes the pay off better because you really worked for it. Well I am praying and learning to trust that this is the case with my trip to study Acting in Wales. In fact the whole of 2010 has been filled with a roller coaster of really amazing things and really bad things usually happening around the same time, and I saw it happen a lot when getting ready for my trip. One way I can describe this is by using a quote from one of my favorite shows, Coupling (BBC). (I will probably use a lot of quotes through out these 5 months of blogs)
Steve: Now, I'm a rabbit in headlights! You know, this pause is just...expanding and expanding like this..out of control...thing!!
Jeff: Yeah, like in "The Blob"
Steve: Yes..like in what?
Jeff; 'The Blob,' fifties horror movie. This blob comes from outer space and just keeps growing and growing!
Steve: Right,thanks.
Jeff: Yeah, it eats people! And in the end they kill it by electrocution!...But that bit doesn't really apply here.
Steve: Right, anyway. Now, I've got a phone in my hand, and I'm saying nothing!
Jeff: Right.
Steve; No, nothing! Nothing is coming into my head! I have forgotten in one moment of embarrassment the entire English language!!
Jeff; I hate it when that happens!
Steve: I can feel my hair, sweating!
Jeff: Oh, God! Yeah, and there's always this puppy trapped in a car that you've got to rescue
Steve: ...What?
Jeff: Sorry, I'm back on 'The Blob' thing. There's always this puppy trapped in a car in those movies.
Steve: Okay, sorry, so, um..the blob from space is the pause-
Jeff; Yeah.
Steve: What is exactly is the puppy?
Patrick: Love.
Steve:...What?
Patrick: Well, obviously the puppy represents love. You've got to rescue the puppy from the car...of ...conversation. That's right isn't Jeff?
Now my blob is not a pause and my puppy is not love (a "love" puppy might be a nice break from the blob I'm having to fight off ;) hahaha ) , but I can relate to the feeling of an expanding out of control thing like "The Blob." My blob is more a money blob and my puppy is my trip.
So here is a break down of my 2010 fight between the blob of money and the puppy my acting trip in Wales. At the start of 2010, I was getting ready to start filming a small independent film, when my grandma past away a week before the first shoot date. My grandma had always been supportive of me and I wanted to make her proud by still going through with the shoot, which I did, my mom (my rock, supporter, and best friend) came with me to the shoot and I could feel my grandma looking down me. :) As 2010 went by I went through school in kind of a blur, and at the end of the semester, while I was walking own the hallway I saw poster for study aboard in Wales UK and I emailed the coordinator as I got more information on the program I knew that this was something I needed to do. While I spending the summer getting ready for Wales, I also got my first experience in community theater performing in "The Twilight Zone" episode "The Shelter," where I got to honor my grandma again by wearing her old dress for my costume. But even though things were going well some areas, it wasn't going so well for my mom and I in others. My mom bought a house when I was eight years old where I lived with her and my grandma, but after my grandma past we fell on harder financial troubles and were pretty sure we were going to have to sell the house. While the financial troubles grew at the back of my mind, had another good opportunity to perform with community theater again this time for an October-Halloweenish show called "The Poe Plays" where I got to preform in a few of Edgard Allen Poe's works made into short plays. It was an amazing learning and performing experience that I would not give up. And I am so thankful to have a supportive mother even when there is stress at home. And the stress was definitely crazy during October, we realized that we were going to have to sell the house for sure and move in with our amazing friends, that I am so blessed to have. We moved in during my last weekend of "The Poe Plays." As we got settled in, I continued with my Junior year of college and getting ready for Wales. Now since the summer I was thinking I would leave at the end of January, which is good because my financial aid would get to me before I left, but I got a bomb dropped on me during Thanksgiving break, when I was informed the school mixed up the dates and I need to be there in January 1oth instead. I would say that, that this is awesome (and it is) but I also had the money to think about, and I was worried I wouldn't have enough money to pay for everything until I got money so I looked into getting a loan. I hit another snag with this, I couldn't get a loan by myself and I couldn't find a cosigner so there was a couple days where I though I wasn't going to be able to go after all. But after talking to the people at Trinity and finding out that I was offered more money through the school I found out that would be able to still go, and I cannot describe how happy I was the day I found that out. :) So in the last couple weeks before I leave I have been working on my visa application, and budgeting to get everything I need for my first couple of weeks in Wales before my money arrives. It is all coming together and I cannot wait to get through my flights, customs and the journey from Heathrow to Carmarthen and be in my new room and that is when I will know that this puppy was saved and I can electrocute the blob standing in the way of it. :D
